Teeth Bonding
Teeth bonding is a dental procedure which is very widely used these days. It is a dental procedure which makes use of a chemical called composite resin. It is used for both removing the structural abnormalities and also for cosmetic surgeries. Teeth bonding has become very popular everywhere. It is just amazing in terms of repairing a broken tooth or filling in the gap between the teeth or changing the colour of teeth from yellow to white. You can even give a better shape to your tooth using this dental procedure.

Dental bonding is long lasting:
The chemical used is termed as composite which is nothing but a chemical solution and is specifically meant to restore your decayed tooth. The procedure of tooth bonding is very simple. All you need to do is to go to your dentist. Your dentist will apply a very thin layer of some plastic kind of material on your teeth then he will apply the bonding material and polish your teeth to give it a nice shape and pleasing look. A very high beam of light is thrown on the teeth for some time to harden it. It is an up gradation to the silver filling tooth process used traditionally. A normal silver filling lasts for seven years on an average whereas this dental bonding may last up to ten or eleven years.
The cosmetic teeth bonding is also available in various types depending on your requirement. If you visit the dentist to get small fillings done then dental bonding is ideal as it provides additional strength to the fillings on your teeth. But, if you have gone to the dentist for large fillings then dental bonding may not be of much use. In large fillings porcelain based artificially made moulds are used by the dentists. This artificial mould which is exactly the shape of your tooth serves as an excellent artificial tooth for the patient.
Dental bonding is an advanced technique:
Teeth bonding is a very advanced technique as compared to silver filling. In dental bonding you do not have to remove the healthy part of the tooth at all. Only the decayed part has to be removed. Earlier in silver fillings even the healthy part of the tooth had to be removed. Though teeth bonding is costlier than silver fillings and also more time taking it is very reliable. People who have cracks on their teeth, gaps in between the teeth, uneven teeth or yellowish teeth are the ones who go for dental bonding.
Dental bonding is a painless procedure though a little time taking. Also, dental bonding is not really advisable for smokers. The chemical used in bonding is porous in nature so if the patient smokes after bonding then it again changes to yellow colour. Hence for them silver filling is more appropriate. After the bonding the teeth looks absolutely normal and no one is able to make out that the person has gone through any kind of dental procedure.
